Users of Patron’s point-of-care module have told us, “It’s clear this was designed by a clinician.” It was. But, it is also the result of extensive research into how clinicians work with patients in a home care setting.  To produce Patron, we field tested, interviewed, and followed clinicians in the field. The Conference Center

The Conference Center would be a tremendous advantage if all it did was record and track inter-disciplinary notes. But users tell us it is useful for much more. Field clinicians use the Conference Center to share a variety of information, directions and nuances concerning the patient or the patient’s home environment. Anything that needs to be shared may be dropped into the Conference Center and passed on to others. The Conference Center fosters teamwork and it makes life easier for your clinical staff. Sometimes you want this information to remain part of the patient record. At other times you do not. Each clinician is given the option to designate information “on the record” or “off the record” in the Conference Center.

 

Auto-resume

Someday, someone may make a battery that never loses power. Until then we have to assume that the system may lose power in the field. While every field system struggles with this issue, Patron handles it especially well. Patron is equipped with an automatic, page-to-page hidden backup. If power is lost, Patron’s auto-resume function will quickly bring your clinician back to the last page worked on, rather than requiring the clinician to start over again.

More than secure

HIPAA has changed the way all of us think about patient data. Patron is fully HIPAA compliant in every component and module. Password protection is built in and segmented by function. So you always know who is entering data into your system, who has access to patient data, and when the entry and access occurred. And Patron’s point-of-care module goes one important step further. For all vital regulatory functions, Patron borrows data from its security log to create a complete audit trail of exactly what happened and when. This is a powerful and useful feature in terms of compliance and process improvement.
